How we performed the tests?
We tested the matches in a lot of ways. We took the burn time test, submerge test, and windproof test one by one. First, we ignited the matches and left them to see how much it took the flame to vanish.
For the submerge test, we ignited the spark and put the match stick in the water. We noted the time for which the fire lit up.
For the windproof test, we used a leaf blower to create wind-like conditions. We ignited the matches and put them straight in the path of the leaf blower.
Results and Conclusion
From all of the four best stormproof matches on our list, we have concluded one thing. All of these perform best in the strongest winds you may encounter.
The only thing we found uncommon was the burning time. Zippo Typhoon Matches outperformed all of the windproof matches with burning time up to 30 seconds. Coghlan’s scored the least with burning time as low as 10 seconds.
